ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE is an organization made up of dedicated Rotarians who provide low-cost scholarship exchange programs that are tailor-made for students. They coordinate almost 10,000 student exchanges every year and do not discriminate based on gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. The exchange programs they offer include gap year abroad, summer abroad, and high school abroad exchange programs. In the programs, students will discover another culture, learn a new language, and become global citizens.

In their high school exchange program, students will get to live with at least two host families during their stay in the exchange country so that they may gain a greater understanding of the culture. They will be required to attend school while on exchange. This also applies to those students who have just graduated from high school and going on exchange during their gap year as it is a mandatory part of the organization’s cultural immersion. Typically, their high school exchange program lasts one academic year.

To ensure the safety of all students during their stay in the exchange country, all host families are initially screened by the host Rotary club.
